We will begin by looking at how to find feeding zones for Trout fishes so that new anglers can Fly Fish trout.

Trout Feeding Zones

Trout Fish are notoriously difficult to catch but lot of fun. If you are new angler, Trout will be on top of your list. The key to Fly Fish trout lies in finding the feeding zones for trout. If you are a new angler, avoid surfaces. The chances of finding Trout are a mere 10% on surface of water body. If you sense bubbles on surface of water, use dry fly. If you go for fishing just below the surface, use a pheasant tail as bait. Most trout feed at bottom of water body. They remain on or close to floor of water body and you have highest chances of getting one if you drop bait here.

Note: If you still have difficulty finding Trout Feeding Zones, use a nymph net.

Basics of casting

Casting is motion of reel and rod to get the fish out of water. Casting is learnt only by experience and you need to place the rod parallel to water as you pick up. Now, if you get the feel, go for back cast. Pull rod backwards and allow the rod to line in with water. Now, let it take the load. As soon as the rod straightens, bring it forward and do a snap stop. Drop the rod carefully in water allowing the fly to hit water in required direction. A good idea to learn casting will be to go with some experienced angler who can give you a demonstration.
